Boeing Track II

St. Louis, MO

Soaring Reliability for Military Contractor.

The Boeing Track II project earned PayneCrest an AGC Keystone Award. It is among countless projects PayneCrest has performed for the defense contractor and represents our ability to sync with the culture of the military contractor and its expectations. Track II is a testing facility for the U.S. military’s next generation of jet fighters. PayneCrest installed specialized electrical infrastructure, took the lead on coordinating the installation of all utilities, used its Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) trailers to keep work on track, and efficiently deployed manpower to deliver the project on time and within budget. The complex electrical infrastructure supported a jet fighter plant/hangar/office, three paint booths, two hush houses, a fuel calibration facility, a seat assembly building and a fuel farm.

Project Highlights

  • Four on-site CAD trailers served as project nerve center, creating more than 200 drawings utilized by all trades
  • Specialized infrastructure to withstand 2,000 degree heat from jet engine testing.
  • Explosion proof seals used to prevent ignition of jet fuel.
  • Met 45-day time frame for delivering the final occupancy phase versus the originally scheduled 90-day window.
  • Quality assurance included high and low voltage testing of cable insulation, infrared testing to detect heat in electrical connections, seismic testing and testing for the ground grid.
